Basic question on cleaning. It seems ever since I put my "Stag lowered AR clone" together, I have never been able to get the bore to come clean. It is a non-chrome lined Colt barrel (early M16A1). The bore is perfect but I can never seem to get the pads to come out clean. It seems to get better after a few passes with a bronze brush but I can never get them white. I'm afraid of damaging the bore with being to aggressive with the brush. All my other rifles I get clean with a few passes, but this one is killing me. I'm used to cleaning Milsurps but.............. All I have is some crap Remington solvent at the moment, but it seems to work fine with the other ones.
Should I not worry to much about it? I'm about to switch it with a chrome lined barrel I have just because it is odd to me not to have the pads come out white.
