Actually saw these in Sportman's Guide catalog for the same price last week, however I HIGHLY doubt SG would EVER ship them to CA per their wiggly policies on CA that don't make much sense most all of the time.

If one were to use one of these for a 5.56 build, I know the ejector is different, but are there another issues that would come up? Are mag dims the same?
I'm thinking one of these might be good for a Beryl build.

This is just my own theory, but since the Tantal had the selector on the left side, it makes sense that the right side would only have two.

The dimple for the safety also looks to be in the right spot for a tantal as well, something to consider if you wanted to use one on a regular 74

People are still buying these? I threw $60 in the trash after building 2 rifles with these blanks. Unless you can do a full heat treat or you are looking for an AK wall hanger, skip on these P.O.S. receivers.

                          Crossed Swords

Just an fyi regarding the Czech sa VZ58 marked with the crossed swords. The crossed swords isn't a manufacturer's mark, it's the arsenal acceptance marking. So obviously only military weapons will have the crossed swords, not rifles made for export/civilian sales.

Ub3rD0rk: I have nothing but good to say about these receivers. Mine turned out great, I think the real trick is proper heat treating and annealing of the receiver, otherwise you are guarenteed to fail.

I went to a build party not long ago. Had to wait forever to find one close. Only way I could get flats bent. Don't have a press because I don't have room, not because I don't want one. The prebents are about the only way I'll be able to build by myself. Yes, there's more work involved, but isn't the process part of the fun? Just glad there is another option for some of us...
