Hey guys. So I've got a rifle I'm looking to duracoat:
I want to do the Seekins rail, the stripped upper, and the stripped lower FDE to match my VLTOR stock, and I want all the pins, forward assist, ejection door, safety, etc, to stay black for contrast. However, I'll be honest.....my limited experiences with rattlecans have been....less than stellar. I love this rifle, and I want to do it right.
I'm also flat dead broke (3 month old daughter, yay!), so I can't afford to ship it all to someone and pay them $100 to do it professionally. So I'm looking to either do it myself, get someone to help me do it myself, or maybe find someone who's got a setup already and is willing to help me out. I'd pay in beer or pizza or whatever you'd like.
What do you guys think? What do you suggest? Plan A was to buy one of the "Shake 'N Spray" kits and try to do it myself. Is that a good idea? Anyone feel like showing me how to do it right? If the kits aren't great, anyone have a better setup they'd be willing to show me how to use?
I'd also take suggestions as to what colors/add ons to get. I'd assume #86 "Vltor Flat Dark Earth", but hell if I know. Original or SL? Should I get a flattener? (Don't really want a shiny rifle)
