    Need a PSL barrel cut.

I need to bring my PSL barrel down to 18 or 19 inches, re-pinning of the front site and have a target crown installed. Can anyone recommend a vendor or company?

It would be a shame to cut an original barrel, since they are no longer being offered. Why don't you just order one of the new US made barrels from Prexis for $200 shipped? He will cut and profile it to any length you want.If the fact that it's not chrome lined bothers you,get it nitrated. Then you can set your original barrel aside as the value is rapidly increasing. Some day you may regret altering your PSL from its original status.A guy just sold one on E-bay for $273 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Romanian-PSL...item2ec00d062a

I thought about that. Its a full matching kit, minus the trunnion which doesn't even have a number on it anyways. The barrel even had the factory tin tag on the front sling mount with the serial number on it. But at the end of the day I dont see myself ever parting with it and historical/re-sale value doesn't appeal too me. Thanks for letting me know about prexis, Ill give him a call.

Haha! Yeah I hear ya... I sent mine out to turbothis, but that was before I met kcstott, otherwise I would have just gone to him. Send him a pm if ya haven't already. Dude does really good work. He helped me by milling the scallops on the rear of a NDS psl receiver.

As far as cutting an OG barrel... I understand what hawaii is saying, but I'm with you. I don't plan on ever selling this one (no matter how much kcstott offers ).

                I resemble that last remark.

Nope I'll be building on as well. Just a matter of time. I've got some other projects that need attention but this one is definitely on the to do list.

And Thanks for the kind words

How short is that Casper? Looks damn good and you are making me re-think my whole rifle. Maybe Ill ditch the Rhineland stock and getting an IWD stock.

Oh and how large is the flame coming out of the barrel on that Casper?

Thanks s30, the barrel is cut down to 18". Any less and I would have had to shorten the gas tube and piston and I didn't want to mess with any of that.

As far as flame... I've only shot it during the day and couldn't really see to big of a flame. Of course I do have a birdcage style flash hider on the front. I'll have to remove the flash hider next time and see. I bet it won't be as big of a flash as straykiller's! http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=434084

BTW, I love the IWD stock. They do a fantastic job. Only problem was all 3 pieces required a lot of fitting. More than I imagined, but it might be just a normal thing with them. YMMV

18" you say? I was set on 19" but yours looks fantasic! It kind of has an AR dissapator look to it with the short barrel but full length handguards.
