Yeah technically that would be legal.

You can legally buy C&R SBRs in Ca. Just do the NFA thing and own a real piece of history!

"in half" isn't enough for legally demilling it. Torch cut into at least 3 pieces with each cut removing at least 1/4" of material with each cut.

Its something you needs lots of filler and welding skills I hope one day to be able to do this

What should I use as filler ? Like Welding rod

ER70S6 very common tig rod it's also available in a mig wire. Blues and parks nicely
