    Headspacing AK-47...

Was at the range in Oceanside and my Romanian AK with PMC ammo had a fail to feed after 4 rounds. Come to find out the neck of the 4th round separated from the case and was lodged in the chamber. Was told that my gun has excessive headspace. Anyone in North County able to headspace and repin my barrel? I got the neck out of the chamber, it was really brittle, I wonder if I just got a bad batch of ammo?

That would only show a gross headspace issue. Also a properly chambered barrel leaves very little room between the bolt face and breach face so trying to feel slop to the uninitiated is going to be tough.

Bring it down tomorrow if you like I'll check it for free. If you need it repined $50 Takes about twenty minutes. Depending on what I have in the machine you may have to wait till it's open. I have gages. I also have a separated case remover.

I am not an expert by any means but like stated above I would guess it is an ammo issue. I would think excessive headspace would cause a case rupture as opposed to a neck failure.

Please let us know how this turns out as I am curious about this myself.

What's the history on the rifle? Who built it? It could have been good ammo and a dirty chamber.

Or a buggered up chamber. We ran it to both at the last build party in SD

If it is a new WASR and the HS is bad, take it back IMMEDIATELY to the store you bought it from. Romy's QC is severally poor on their guns made in the last 5-6 years.
