A while back I got a little carried away buying Egyptian parts kits but how could I pass up one with an Arabic marked sight leaf. All of the Egyptian kits I've had were painted poorly so I try to reproduce that same finish and then I scuffed this one up a little for that battle worn look. You have to wonder what stories these rifles would tell if they could talk. You know how it goes, one more and I'll stop!

I don't buy the "just one more" either. You've proven that you can kick bad habits when you lost all that weight. So, you don't have anything to prove and building AKs isn't really a "bad" habit now, is it?

You guys know me too well Thanks for the kind words from fellow builders. Bombadillo I think somebody crunched the numbers for an average build done at a build party and came up with about $600 including kit. flat, rivets, compliance parts, and build party contribution. I don't know anybody that builds them to save money, we do it for a lot of different reasons. For me it is very satisfying and relaxing. I also believe it promotes our Second Amendment by getting new people involved with firearms without asking government permission for our God given rights.
