    MAK90 Kit question

    Which flat should i use?
Ive read to use the 1.5mm flat, and sand down the trunions. And have not seen any 1.3mm flats (thats what i need right?)

Also, Can i use the same jig as the Ak's? or will this MAK90 be alot more complicated than i thought?

matt has 100% and blanks...not flats that I know of. I wouldn't get too excited about Ak-builder chicom flats. look at the start date of that thread and I don't see them coming anytime soon

My kit was missing the trigger gaurd and rear trunnion. Sense I was going to have to shave a trunnion anyways, I decided to use a 1.5mm HD flat from AK Builder. You need to use the 1.5mm punch for the jig and I got the flat with no trunnion holes so I could match drill for my trunnions. It didn't hurt that I had just bought a mill so I could shave the trunnion myself.

I have been told the MAK trigger gaurds use 3 rivets where as the standard AKM use 5 rivets. Look at yours. The flats had the trigger gaurd rivets holes already.

Pardon my ignorance but do you need to narrow the trunnions as the chinese used a thicker receiver didn't they?

The outside dimension is the same but with different thicknesses of metal, the inside dimensions vary and the trunnions have to match the inside dimensions. Thicker the metal, the smaller the inside is.
