Help Please - AR -15 Mag stuck

Was at the range today to shoot a new lower (Spikes receiver, CMMG LPK). The upper is a fairly new (500 rounds)Colt. Bought a new magpul 20/10 (20 round with the internal limiter to 10 rounds) magazine.
First 80 rounds and all was fine.
Next magazine (same magazine) of 10 rounds was inserted - not slammed - into the magwell. The magazine is now stuck in the magwell and the top of the magazine is protruding to the point where it is blocking the bolt from moving forward.
Took it to the range master and he was able to use a putty knife and remove the cartridges.
The range master believes it is the plastic magazine as he does not use them anymore. The guy shooting next to me thinks it has something to do with the bullet button and the spring possibly getting hung up.
I have never seen a magazine block the bolt.
When one person depresses the bullet button and the other tries to free the mag, we cannot even get it to budge a bit.
Questions - Have you seen this problem before and if so, how can it be fixed. I believe it will have to be taken to a gun smith. Your thoughts?

Did you use loctite on the bullet button, if not more the likely advance inwards causing it not to release. When you press the bullet button does it press in? if it doesn't move or very little then you need to try and back out the spindle nut, try using a small paperclip, the bullet button wrench the little red one wont always work because you cant line up the tabs. if you have a red wrench, you can carefully drill it threads out so it will line up any way you want but try the paper clip first. This is very common of the bullet button I would recommend using blue loctite since it holds well and can be taken off easily if need. good luck

Sounds like you got a combination of a plastic magazine with the mag catch notch in the wrong place as well as a stuck bullet button.

With either of the methods below make sure you have the bolt pulled all the way back.

First get some dental picks ( HF really cheap) and use the long straight one. Locate where the mag catch engages the magazine then insert the pick straight down till you contact the catch. Push down and and outward with the pick then you should be able to remove the magazine. You will most likely put a deep scratch in the plastic magazine but it should come out.

The other way is to remove the floor plate, spring and follower, then squeeze the sides near the mag well inwards and give a good pull.

One of these should work ..... I would return that mag and get a new one.
