What type of work are you looking to have done? It's tough to find a good gunsmith in the Valley. All of the old guys have either passed or moved out of state and the younger one aren't very good.

Try contacting Halfcocked Gunsmithing & Firearms or Breco Firearms in Clovis.

Halfcocked no longer have an in-house gunsmith, but I hear the person they use is pretty good. Same with Breco...nobody in-house, but I have heard the person they contract with is pretty good.

Think OP's best bet is to contact Randall of AR15 Barrels and plan on a day trip to Van Nuys.

You can also try Central Valley Guns in Selma. Marvin and his team are well known locally for building very good custom rifles. Threading/Installing/chambering are basic stuff for them. They are usually pretty busy, but do great work.

Randall, I'm still shooting the 22.250 AI that you chambered for me years ago. It will still whack the varmints at 1/4 mile.

I sometimes do quick jobs (typically under 30 minutes) on Saturdays.
