    SIG EXPERIENCED GUNSMITH/ARMORER NEEDED

Require the assistance of an SIG experienced gunsmith/armorer here in the Central Valley. Have a Sig P365 with a stuck slide. Yes, I have already researched the web and YouTube videos for guidance to no avail. I'm in the Fresno/Visalia area and can travel as far south as Bakersfield or north to Madera or west to Paso Robles/Atascadero. No way do I want to travel to the LA/Orange County areas for gunsmith work. (Sorry Randall, just the way it is, and I was born and raised in the LA area). Have previously used the gunsmithing services of KenDog4570 however, I understand he has relocated from Oakhurst, CA to Arizona. Recommendations, please.

If you are friends with any of your local police officers or deputies, ask them if their Rangemaster can help.

I was a Rangemaster before retiring and I used to send my instructors to armorer courses not just for issued weapons, but also for weapons commonly purchased by my cops for off duty carry. I'm sure there are other law enforcement Rangemasters that do the same.

List out exactly what you were doing with the gun BEFORE you got the slide stuck.
Did you just install any new parts that required the FCU to be disassembled?
If so, did you get the sear disconnect bar properly behind the sear when it was going back together?

It's normally the sear that keeps a slide from coming off the frame on a P365.
Did you already remove the back plate off the slide and remove the striker from the slide?

Hi Randall, thanks for commenting. Here are the details....

In March of this year, I had bought an iron sight slide and completion kit from Brownells with the ultimate objective of fitting it and a longer XL bbl to a P365 that I was considering purchasing. I like the P365 platform with the FCU but, don't care for the optic cut and LCI on top of the factory slide.

Check out SIG SAUER, INC. P365 Slide Completion Kit 9mm SKU: 430105873 available Online at Brownells Today and many more Handgun Slides & Parts products are available in our Gun Parts Department. Write a review.

Upon purchasing and completing the DROS on a P365 earlier this month, I was interested in seeing how the Brownells XL slide would fit. Removing the factory slide was easy enough and the longer XL slide went on without issue except when trying to remove it and therein lies the problem. For clarification, the barrel was not in the slide upon trial fitting it to the FCU however, the slide completion parts were and correctly installed to the best of my knowledge.

At this point, I just want to restore the pistol to its original factory configuration.

Make sure that the take down lever is at a full 90 degrees. If it is not it pushes up on a spring that prevents the slide from moving forward.

Big thanks to Randall for reaching out and guiding me through the process of removing the stuck slide on my P365. Pistol has now been restored to it's original configuration. 😊
