Need AK74 barrel components drilled and pinned!

I managed to headspace and install parts on the barrel myself with use of a giant press. I drilled and pinned the RSB but am concerned about drilling the smaller parts and barrel pin. Can I do these on a drill press? And special drills recommended?

You can ship it too. as long as it's not attached to a receiver

Your still welcome to drop it off or ship it to have done. You still want to do receiver work too? My AK BP on 26th is still offered as per my text.

Thanks Justin! I started messing with it my self last night. Just need to drill the gas port and barrel pin. I may stop by the BP to park the stuff if that's cool!

A drill press is fine to use. Clamp the work down. Trunnion is a 7mm bit while the gas port is a 2mm.

Going off of your pic, your going to have to first mark the location of the gas hole from the bottom and centerpunch 180 to top centered, than slide the gas block forward in order to drill the hole at a 90 degree. Follow that with a slight tap of a 3/16 bit to make a chamfer.

Pins are 3mm. RSB is 4mm

Thank you. Gas port is drilled already.

I thought this was the "gun smithing/how to" forum not the "I can do it for you for a fee" forum

Not everyone has the tools, inclination or confidence to populate their own barrel. It is a common service a builder will farm out and then assemble the front end to the receiver at a build party.

You are correct. This thread was originally me looking for someone to headspace/populate the barrel for me. I originally posted in the WTB section and had no replies so i re posted here. I got around to trying it myself and did pretty good. Now I'm asking "how to" drill and pin the parts. I wanted to be sure I was doing it right so I didn't mess up the parts drilling them. Thank you for your concern.

Maybe I read it wrong, but I understood it as the op was looking for some advise on "how to" do a particular step...not "who wants to charge me a fee to drill a few holes."

Title used to read "need ak74 barrel headspaced/populated near VC/LA area"

I changed the title because I no longer need this service. Those replys were people offering to do it for me before I change the title. Now I am only looking for advice!
