To the OP: no matter what you choose to spray, it's all in the prep.
Crappy prep makes for crappy results.
Good prep usually makes for good results as long as you don't do something completely wrong while spraying...

I agree the key to any good finish is in the prep to the metal . Gunkote is a good product but not very abrasion resistant.
