    Slip 2000 Foaming bore cleaner

I bought some on impulse at a big retailer. IT is useless for cleaning a gun barrel. It cleans like soapy water. Which, it seems to be, like a shaving cream.
Avoid it, in a pinch any solvent is better for bore cleaning.

I thought I was getting one of the older types like Gunslick. That stuff worked great, let it sit and blue liquid ran out of the bore. I see it is discontinued.

I see Wipe Out is available mail order, how does it work? It claims to be non flammable. That concerns me.

I like to start cleaning, put my gear away, then finish cleaning. The old foaming bore cleansers were wonderful for that.

Never used it, but a lot of precision rifle shooters swear by Patch Out/Wipe Out. Their claim is generally that it is very effective given enough time to work, and it's easy to apply: plug the barrel at both ends and let it clean on the trip home from the range.

I use Bore Tech carbon and copper cleaners, myself.

Wipeout has been an effective product in cleaning my barrels.

        Same. I use Wipeout on .223 / 9mm / .22lr and it works great.

Spray some in, lay horizontal, wait an hour, rotate 90 degrees and spray a bit more in, until I've completed the circle. Bronze brush out the gunk, run a few patches.

I follow up with a wet patch of CLP and let that soak a bit, wipe it out and then done.

Only reservation I have with it is that it seems to be water based but claims to have anti-rust stuff in it. Not sure I buy that so I leave a film of CLP in the barrel.

All the Slip2000 lubricants I have tried (Original, EWL, EWL30, ELW Grease) have worked great.

But their cleaning products aren't great, it seems. I haven't tried this foaming bore cleaner, but I tried their Carbon Killer and it worked only kinda okay. Kano Kroil works better.

I had the same experience, despite my smith's recommendation.

I do use their grease as a bolt lube though.

              I use wipe-out.
I have tried some other foaming cleaners and none of them worked as well as wipe-out for me.

After having great results with Slip 2000 Carbon Killer on M249 and M240 gas pistons, i decided to try Slip 2000 foaming bore cleaner. Big mistake, it didn't work well. Like others, I switched to WipeOut Foam.

Being water based, I would guess that Slip 2000 foaming bore cleaner could be used on black powder or corrosive ammo, but I don't like trusting my weapons to a guess, so i use water and Ballistol for corrosive cleaning.
