What does "converting" mean? What specifically do you want done?

If you want to replace the FSB and gas block with standard AK--100 bits. Do you already have the replacement parts?

        Those have gotten very pricy.

Are you interested in replacing the trigger guard and magazine release?

Do you have a replacement unit?

All those bits were once pretty cheap. Now they cost a few hundred, if you can even find them..

        Poke'm with a stick!

I'm not sure of any local but I have just mailed my rifle out to a builder for this kind of work.

Troy Sellars of InRange is open for work currently.

I have had lots of people make the trip down to So-Cal to see me for this kind of work.
Get all your new parts and then make an appointment.
I do the work while you wait so you only need to make one trip.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
              Most work performed while-you-wait.

Riveting is more like blacksmithing work than gunsmith work.
Fitting barrel parts on barrels is easy with a sunnen hone and a press.
                I use a 0.1% interference fit.

The rear conversion isn't very difficult.

How far are you wanting to take it?

I've done both my Saiga 12 & Saiga 7.62 Sporter
