Barrel reaming and threading for choke

Might call and ask one of the trap/skeet ranges if they know of a good shotgun smith. I'd suggest Martinez Gun Club from reputation (I don't shoot shotgun.) USI in Concord and the Livermore range both have pretty active shotgun ranges as well (I think Richmond may as well.)👍 1 -
It would be about the same to buy a Rem 870 Express. Chokes will be of little use on a 20" barrel. then add the cost of chokes and you could be cheaper than having it reamed and threadedComment

R&D in So Cal is probably the best on the west coast for shotgun barrel work. You can send just the barrel which makes it easier and cheaper. Screw in chokes will work just fine in a 20 inch barrel giving you the adjustability you are looking for.👍 1Comment

You can get a used 28" accu-choke threaded barrel off ebay for less than $100. This would be a cheaper and more versatile way to go than threading a short barrel.Comment
