    Quick AK74 questions

So I'm getting ready to build my first AK74 and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a good US made muzzle brake. I've seen several sites with a Tapco "AK-47 AK-74 style" brakes, but if I'm understanding that right, it won't fit the AK74, since the threads are different. So does anyone know where I can get one that will fit?

I also had a sort of dumb question about the FCG. Are all of the trigger group parts interchangeable between the AKM and AK74? And I'm assuming that the center support is the same, even though the flat and rivet sets are different.

AK74/AK100 5.45x39 mm weapons use 24x1.5 mm RH, while 7.62x39 mm weapons use 14x1 mm LH. The location of the ports is similar to, but not identical to the simplified AK74 brake. You can buy an AK74 brake from Kvar, MidwayUSA, Arsenal, Rguns and many other places. Here is my 5 second attempt to find one:

All of the trigger parts are interchangeable if single hook. Center supports can be altered for clearance, that's a separate issue.

Thanks, Richard. I guess I should've known they were going to be more expensive than the AKM muzzle brakes.

Scroll down you'll see a US made one. Are you replacing it for compliance? If so u can do the piston for $20. G2 is 3 parts receiver and barrel is 2 piston would give you 6. Pistons are pretty easy. Rear long trunnion demill is harder than a piston swap from my experiences.

Will not fit but even if it did Tapco 74 brakes are CRAP! The Tapco slant is great allows trimming for right hand and left shooters
