MKII barrel install/timing

I have searched the archive of this Group but found nothing. I had to have a barrel removed from a MKII Ruger pistol and I am having a difficult time finding information on the timing installation for a replacement barrel.
The vendor that removed the barrel said that they only would install their own and if purchased from them. But I already had the replacement and waslooking for it to be installed. If anyone knows of an old post or if there is a smith around (So Cal, IE) that can install and time the barrel to the receiver could you forward the info please..

Yes,very nice folks as long as you buy their parts and have them install them.
They did the removal of the old barrel.
Just trying to find someone that can maybe do it for me local now.

I get enough grief from mods for simple honest 'mistakes' that I make and you slide through posting b.s. like this. Without a doubt 'ASSUMING' that you know every unmentioned detail regarding my post, even what I paid. WTF makes you think first of all that I haven't 'done my own footwork' as you like to put it and have simply asked for someone to suggest a smith that maybe they have used in the past? Logically, most people would presume that if I have gone to the trouble before posting this and with what I have already done to try and accomplish what it is that I am ttrying to accomplish,.....
that I would have already checked locally to try and find someone if it was not for the fact that I tried to find someone locally before sending it from coast to coast, when I might have been able to perhaps just drive it to where I could retain the work that I was seeking to be performed

How much anything cost was never mentioned. Another "ASSUMPTION" was that when I sent the piece initially that I did not send it with the barrel that I already had purchased but was then told that they would not install the barrel if it was not their product and/or purchased from them or dealer/vendor?
Actually, you don't know about any of it but see fit to pass judgement, spewing it all in a worthless post, where BW consuming space that is reportedly precious on this site.
Did I wrong you at some time or place that I am not aware of and if so, why did you not call me on it then?
Just so that you will not lose any more sleep over it, and I still have the receipt from Clark somewhere to back this with, I only spent $50 for the removal of the barrel and that included the return shipping.
What the expense was to ship to them obviously is of no consequence to this matter. Not that any of it is of any consequence anyway....
Other than someone that might want to be helpful which is what I find most of the folks on this website prefer to choose to do.

Just to add, for those that would be interested, I have more a-hole magnets For Sale and are posted in the appropriate Forum. Perhaps someone would want or needs to start a GB...?

It really sounds like you want something done for near nothing. Why would you go through the trouble to send it to a smith only to have it sent back. I understand you have your own barrel. But maybe you should sell it and have them do the work.

Yeah I come off rude but you come off like you can't operate a computer and google a smith. Or you want the work done for free.You remind me of a guy that asked me to machine a slide for his pistol from solid. He expected it to be $400 I told him $1200 and he freaked. I said well you try it then.

Do you know how many people come on these boards asking questions that have been answered ten thousand times before? They refuse to use a search function. Refuse to use GOOGLE. Try a friggin search.

the barrels are timed off the shoulder , so if the barrel you are installing is new it needs to be put in a lathe and start taking lil cuts and checking the fit to the tube and stop just before its dead on for torquing (cant remember the #'s off the top of my head) you also need a way to torque the barrel/tube not a quick simple job ....

I knew it was going to take more than what I have access to or the experience to do this myself. What 8I am looking for at this time that I did not have luck in find in the beginning was someone local that could do a decent worthwhile install so that I would end up with something SAFE and functional, but local. But I think I may have mentioned that already...I intend on calling VQ if I don't get anyone to give a friendly suggestion for someone local. I was trying to find a private shop first off to give the private biz owner some business before calling them however. I want to get this done as its been on the back burner for some time now. So I probably won't wait too long before I do. Thanks again for the positive input along with the details...

I wanted to leave this off the thread to that i could be candid with you. I don't know you and you sure the hell don't know me or a thing about me. What I have done, where I have been etc. You on the other hand seem the need to tell everyone what you can do and how beechin you are. Hell you even have an avatar of yourself. I already made the comment you don't know what I have or have not done or contacted. Again you tell me to google a search etc and you don't know Richard about what I had done afa looking for someone. Actually, why didn't you reply to my first post when I was looking initially??? I doubt very much that I would have NOT had you done the job, that is if your capable of that level of work...
As far as your attack to my finances or being cheap, than needs to go to a PM. If you have nothing better to do than spend your time on here and pick apart these posts and pass your worthless judgement on them, then just away from any of my posts. I had placed you on the ignore list but then saw that you had added more of your brillance to the thread, my curiosity got the best of me. Just to show that there are some people that still do help other folks out and not just trying to grease them up when they walk into the biz door or call for a job price. Clark removed the barrel for $60 bucks and I Do have the receipt somewhere to prove it. It actually came out less than the $75. I think I may have said $50 before and it was a typo. But the barrel had been sent with the job and they returned it and told me that they would not install what was not theirs. So save your spew and take it somewhere else. There is really no need to even come back or go to any post of mine in the future. You're just to cool and beechin for me... Don't waste your time here... or mine.
