    Refinishing a Laminated Stock

    Hey guys,

I just mounted an ebony fore end on a microfit stock that I bought for my Ruger M77. I have to do a few little things, like drill the holes for the sling swivels, sand out a few, minor imperfections and mask everything off but I'm nearly ready to start spraying.

I originally bought a can of Brownell's epoxy stock finish but I'm reading that pure linseed oil might be the preferred finish, even for laminated stocks. Have any of you used the epoxy stuff in the past? Is it the best option, or should I steer clear?

    Thanks....

I'll offer you this information because I can't remember details.
Go to rimfirecentral and look at stock refinishing. You'll have more great info than you'll
know what to do with. With pics!

Okay, thanks... I'll check it out.

I've heard that the epoxy finish can be hard to work with but if done right, the results are primo.
