So whats deal with the sled magazine? Is it a one shot magazine or a zero shot magazine? how do u turn a tapco 10 RN poly mag into a sled? I want to make it before the build party

It would be a zero shot magazine. If it can hold 1 round then if you already had 1 chambered and 1 in the magazine it would not be a single shot.

For my AR pistol I just put a block of wood under the follower that filled the entire mag body and then re-installed the base plate. If allowed the follower to fall just enough so it didn't hit the bolt stop, but you couldn't fit any rounds into it.

I don't think it needs to be a permanent modification, but I made it permanent (just in case) and have since passed it on to a few friends who have built pistols of their own.

Just plug it so that it will not hold a single round. No need to permanently do so. It's always legal to tuen a sled back into a 10 round or less magazine.

For AK sleds I used to just rivet the follower from a cheapy magazine right to the body and then chop the body nice and short. We would buy them back from customers or urge customers to pass them on to others.

For AR sleds you can actually use a lower receiver vice block.

The upside to those is, you have a lower receiver vice block when you're done
                Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
