    AR barrel

Alright was helping a buddy look over all the parts he collected for his build and I peeked down the barrel, where the gas hole is drilled inside the barrel there is kind of a lip of material.

I am assuming its pieces that didnt come off when the hole was drilled. We tapped it with a cleaning rod and most of it came out but there is a still a bit of junk left around the edge of the hole.

Sorry pics didnt turn out, I will try again tonight.

So any way the question is should he worry? I dont remember ever seeing that on any of my builds, but I don't even remember looking...

Shoot it. It's just a burr and will come off with the fist shot.
If it was a AR with a target barrel I'd say cast a lap and push it out to save any minor damage to the barrel. But a little burr is not going to be an issue in a barrel not designed for the upmost in accuracy. I'd do it even on my AR M4 copy

Run just the cleaning rod down the barrel with no attachment on it this should knock it off if you think it is a problem. But if you took it out and shoot it this would do the same thing. Either way it shouldn't be a problem
