    Removing bullet button... Colt SP6920CA

I am trying to replace the stock bullet button that came with my new Colt 6920, but nothing seems to work. I push it all the way in enough to rotate the mag catch, but it only rotates about 180 degrees+ then its stuck because of the bolt catch.

Anyways, I am not sure if I am doing something wrong here. Also, the tool I have seen doesnt seem to apply to this style of bullet button, it's a bit different.

Anyone have this issue/know how to resolve it?

Push harder. Or unscrew the bb a little bit more for clearance.

          Pic

Here is the current bullet button. I am trying to replace it with raddlock. I don't have any other tool than the small standard which came with the raddlock. I was simply pushing as far in on the bullet button, and trying to unsrew the mag catch on the other side, which turned until it got to the bolt catch, at which point it could no longer turn.

Ideas? It doesnt seem the standard bullet button tool would fit in this. It's not the same design.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, my cam sucks.

Doesn't look quite the same as a standard bullet button.

If it were me I would try sticking a screwdriver in that slot and seeing if it unscrews. (based on the picture posted)

              Good luck

Remove the bolt catch if its hanging up there.

I have tried the screwdriver thing, doesn't work.

I am thinking about removing the bolt catch, but didn't want to risk damaging the lower. Id much rather do it without having to remove the bolt catch, but we shall find out.

Looks like they assembled the BB before the bolt catch and probably torqued all the way in. You have to either drill out the magazine catch or as somebody mentioned remove the bolt catch. It's fairly easy to remove the bolt catch but you probably need to get a another bolt roll pin to reassemble.

Here are the instructions to install bolt catch

I recommend using electrical tape on the lower to avoid scratching it.

                      Well

I just spoke with the shop I purchased it from, and they said they would be more than happy to swap it out for free. Might as well go that route to insure it gets done properly. I don't doubt I could successfully remove the bolt catch, but I might as well let the shop who does it all day get it done for free.

Any more input would be great tho. And thanks for everyone who has posted thus far.

Update... Raddlock installed. You just need to take a screw driver, unscrew as posted above to get the colt BB off.. Don't need that special tool that you would on other BB. I am very pleased with the stock Colt BB now. I originally tried the screw driver thing, as it sure seemed appropriate based on the setup, but it wouldnt turn. I was trying to baby it. Just got it done, and got the raddlock on. Btw, the raddlock is awesome. Perfect for in state, and now when I go out of state I can simply unscrew it some. Great invention!

                            Thanks guys!
