    Parkerizing Kit

I am looking to buy a Parkerizing kit. Can anybody recomend one? I want a complete kit. Do they come with a heater to heat it up? I want it for AK's, as if it wasn't obvious. I want the tank to be able to hold the barrel and bolt.

    Thanks

Get a turkey fryer burner, a SS parkerizing tank, candy thermometer and the parkerizing solution of your choice. Buying a kit would probably be a waste of money.

You can spend very little or ridiculous amounts of money for a phosphate setup.

I am a cheap SOB and have spent very little on my setup:

using a camp stove with 3 burners I already owned.
built one long tank for about $7.00, use a second tank which is an old chipped camp pot.
made my own chemicals for about $20.00 for 4 gallons.
      cheap digital thermometer, $3.00.

I have been offered a very nice looking stainless steel acid tank for about $200.00, I passed, so you can spend top dollar if you choose to.

I'm putting together a kit to park my M1919. Check these links for the tank and burners. The restaurant supply place also has thermometers.

I use a restaurant steamer pan with lid from the local cash and carry. I put it on a camp stove and heat it to just below a boil. The park solution I bought off of Gunbroker from Allegheny Arsenal.

Thanks for replying. I am looking at buying the solution on the right, the one on the left, http://www.parkerizingkits.com/html/...arms_kits.html

Also, Can I save the solution after mixing it? How long would it be good for?

Camp stove, good idea got one of them. I can get a candy thermometer. I not sure where in town I can find a used stainless pan though.

I used a bbq, a $15 SS fish steamer, thermometer and park solution. Yes my barrel fit in.

I parked all kinds of things, AK parts, 1911 and parts, old spyderco knife. Everything turned out very good.

How long is the AK 47 from end of receiver to end of stock flash suppressor? Without the buttstock.
