    Gunsmith Service Needed

I have a Howa 1500 that I would like to get the barrel threaded but I heard that the barrels are pressed so tight that removing it might damage it. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that has a lathe that can thread a barrel with the action attached? Local shops around Ontario would be preferred but any suggestion would be appreciated.

Howa barrels are not "pressed" in they are threaded on just like the Weatherby Vanguard they are a copy of.

If you can't get it done in your area Bring it down here.

          Call ammo bros.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

KCScott, you are correct and I miss spoke. They are threaded, but heard they are very tight and difficult to remove. SD would be a bit of a drive for me, but thanks.

I use a real good guy out of Rialto.PM me and I will provide his number.I just got a couple back with muzzle brakes installed.Charge for tactical brake,threading/fitting/timing($125)complete.The barrel has to be minimum 19".Compared to guys in my area wanting $125 plus the cost of the brake. They have to pull the barrel off the receiver. What a difference it made.Note:He will not do a AR barrel unless it is only the barrel without the receiver attached.
