    Underfolder Search

I am looking to get a Polish underfolder but I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Time is not on my side right now so I was looking to buy rather than build but that may be my only option.

Sent 3 emails to Henderson without so much as a middle finger.

I may just have to get a kit and bend up a flat i guess.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Polish underfolder

    http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct1055.aspx (Complete Rifle)

    http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct1109.aspx (Parts Kit)

I didn't check to see if they have any in stock though. Best of luck in your search either way.

The polish UF kit http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct1109.aspx is presumably 7.62x39, right?

Question: what would be needed to take that kit and built it out to 5.56x45 instead of the 7.62x39? Obviously a barrel and bolt (and mags and receiver and...), but what about the BCG or trunnion?

I ask because I'd like to get that kit for the UF stuff, but use the rest for a 5.56 build.

Barrel, bolt, bullet guide, 5.56 flat(I think a 74 might fit but I'm not positive)...

From what I've read it's not an easy or cheap process. KVAR used to sell AK-100 front ends that you could probably use, but that's only if you can find one somewhere.

Pretty sure the 5.56 trunnion is 22mm as opposed to 23mm. If I'm wrong, someone from the AK Team will be along shortly to correct me. Try poking around the AK Files to learn more. A quick google search yielded quite a few threads about it.

Thank you all for the advice and the help.

Looks like a kit it is. I will just have to be patient and build instead of buy.

Man i just hope I don't screw up the rivets like I did on the Mak90 rebuild.

AKM is 23mm, everything based on the 74 (including Saigas) is 22mm.

Arsenal SLR-106 uses the 23mm trunnion. I have a Bulgy 5.56 barrel that needs the 23mm trunnion. The Yugo M85/M95 also have the 23mm trunnion although bulged. As SJGunguy24 said, what's based on the 74's used the 22mm trunnions. Arsenal based their 5.56 rifles on AKM.
