I am in the navy and i just got orders to San Diego. I have a mini thirty tactical that i bought out here in Georgia, and apparently the detachable mag with the flash suppressor make this model an illegal assault rifle according to California state law. I have looked at a few mag lock kits that require a tool to release the magazine and will make the weapon California compliant, but i am new to doing my own mods. Does anyone have any suggestions or recomendations?

Are muzzle brakes legal in CA, or specific brakes legal? A few of the websites i have looked at say they cant ship to CA...Comment

Brakes are good, not an evil feature. Don't go by what vendors will ship to CA... Use the Flowchart above. http://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf
You will need to decide if you want to go the featureless configuration or non featureless with bullet button for your Mini. They do make BB for the Mini platform. It's your call. I myself like my Mini Featureless and AR BB'd.
And welcome to CalGuns and Welcome to San Diego.Last edited by rplusplus; 03-30-2012, 5:33 PM.US Navy Retired 1987-2007Comment
