Plastidip?

Just wondering if anyone has done this to a rifle stock? I am picking up a ruger 10/22 with a wood stock and like the feel of the hogue overmold. Would this be a cheap but viable way to rubberize the stock and turn it black or would this turn into a mess?

I suppose you could, not sure what naptha would do to the stock though...

I have done tools and metal, works fine for that. Wood? Dunno. I would go with the Hogue. It will look like a home job for sure that stuff is runny and dries funny.

A hogue overmold has been ordered and a brand new wood stock will be going on eBay

I blacked out my truck a few months ago with Plastidip. Wheels, bumpers, and grill and it has held up very well. At 6 bucks a can it's a good bang for the buck. And if you dont like it you just peel it off. You could probably do 3 or 4 stocks with 1 can.

Just wondering if the plastidip is holding up still. I just plastidipped my front grill and emblems as a test before I do my whole car.
