GLOCK - magazine release spring

If I "limp wrist" the gun, the magazine will pop out after the last shot every time. If I grip the gun really firm, the mag stays in place after the last shot every time. i don't think it should pop out at all.
I am using the Aluminum Extended Mag Release (6 months old) from Glockstore.com on my gun and haven't had this problem before. The gun is 3 years old.Last edited by ODG23; 03-24-2012, 11:13 PM.Comment

Have another person shoot your gun with the same set up. That will remove the variable. 90% of the time is a user error rather than an equipment issue. There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Perhaps the spring isn't sitting in the mag release properly?_____________________________________________

If your mag catch spring was properly placed into the aftermarket mag catch, my bet would be on the aftermarket part. It may not be mating into your magazine properly. It could also be your magazines themselves."If it wears out, replace it. If it breaks, upgrade." -Cranky Air Force Vet.

Your issue is using aftermarket parts.... If there was no issue before you switched out the stock part and substituted in a non GLOCK made part and started to have problems..... Well there is your problem and solution.Poke'm with a stick!

aluminum mag release is the culprit. I've used for awhile but when the problem popped up it was consistently failing with every magazine. I changed it out and deliberately
'limp wristed' the gun to try to get it to pop out and it wouldn't fail once. oh, well.Comment

Try this one. It is longer than the standard Glock OEM but shorter than the extended. I have them on all my Glocks and find them to be perfect. Never had a problem with them.

Thanks, I will probably go with the Glock factory extended. They are Spec. and only $5.Try this one. It is longer than the standard Glock OEM but shorter than the extended. I have them on all my Glocks and find them to be perfect. Never had a problem with them.
