    Sig service needed in OC

I have a P220 that seems to have some worn/loose springs in the trigger and hammer area. First of all, it has a lot of slop in the trigger. Onced pulled back to the point of fire, there seems to be a looooong trigger reset if any. Its almost non-existant. Also the hammer looks like it should strike and have some stiffness to it but it seems mine is a little weak. Any suggestions on a local CG'er or even a shop that can take a look at this would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're willing to drive all the way to L.A., I can put a spring set in for you in 30-40mins. I've done a few Sigs for local Calgunners.

Sigs do have a somewhat long and mushy reset- a stiffer spring set will make it better, but you can't alter the nature of the design. I'm not sure if the 'short reset trigger' kit changes things, I haven't had the chance to test one out yet.

Sigs also have 'flabby' hammers- they snap forward and bounce back, making a weird non-solid sounding hammer strike. If you put a Bic pen in the barrel, tip it upwards, and dry fire it- it should LAUNCH the pen about 3-6 feet in the air. If it does this your springs are probably fine.

If you make it up here, you can compare with my Sig too- it has fresh springs (but a reduced power trigger spring).

I'm in Orange County and am more then willing to help you. I am a certified Sig Armorer and can put the weapon back into spec, or if you like overhaul it as well to improve the trigger as well. PM me if you're interesting or have any questions.
