    1911 plunger tube break

I've got a colt 1911 govt issue, that keeps popping the plunger tube off. First tube to shoot off was the original - have had this gun for 30+ years never had this happen before. Second tube shot off last weekend at the range - I assume this was my failure to install the part correctly.

What am I (or the gun) doing wrong to cause this to happen after so many years of flawless service.

Also - I'd love to take this to a gunsmith to have the work done, but I can't ever find one that isn't a jerk to work with. Any recommendations for a good one (and I have NO PROBLEM shipping to a GOOD gunsmith) would be welcomed.

Did you stake your new plunger tube when you installed it. If not, you can get a plunger tube staking tool and this should help.
