That is a highly general question, what kind of firearm are you looking at doing something to? I would seriously recommend the search function in the gunsmithing subforum, I think you will find alot of answers that way.

If you tie a string around your finger real tight, it'll turn purple.

Might help if you said what guns you had.

            hack

Noun: a person who is a professional at doing some sort of service, but does crappy work.(see also: Red Jacket Firearms)
Most people who work on guns try not to be associated with the work "hack"

Hack (verb) in computer lingo is a trick or work around.

Hack (noun) is as Toes stated: a "professional" the does really crapy work
You can be a professional computer Hack (noun) they guy that does crapy work
Or a profesional computer Hack (verb) that fixes all of windows issues and your server problems too.

So you can use Hacks just don't be a Hack

I like the idea of this thread but it never really took off.

How about a trigger job for an AR15
                  Insert something clever here.

Buy a drop in Timney or something like it.

Or get a stoning fixture from brownell's

The issue is it take years to learn how to use honing stone on a trigger correctly. It is also the trigger which if modified incorrectly can create and unsafe condition. and if done on someone else's rifle can create liability.

So if you want to learn how to do trigger work there are many good books out there on the subject written by people with vastly grater experience then you will find in a You Tube video. Buy parts that you can throw away and don't expect much the first time around. It amazes me how many people don't want to take the time to read a book. If it's not digital it's nothing.
I have a vast library on Firearms, Engineering, and Machining. Those books have trick in them that are nearly forgotten about. little pointers that help you on your way. Nothing can replace a paper page

There are some areas of gunsmithing that just need to be left up to the professionals
