I just pressed out the barrel on a romy g kit and the barrel has some gouges, can I sand it down or just leave it alone?

I'm assuming you mean on the outside of the chamber? You can polish them up a bit, which is what I would do to make sure it slides back in easily. Don't take too much metal off, just smooth it out.

It shouldn't take much to just smooth it out (you won't be able to remove the gouges completely, just smooth them out), 120 or 150 or finer would do it.
