    Glock Worn(?) Extractor

So I have a gen 2 G17 and G19 Glocks. The G19 has extraction issues. The G17 works great. When I compared the 2 extractors (G17 on left, G19 on right) this is what they looked like:

Should I just chalk the difference in appearance (one looks rounded the other pointy and sharp) due to manufacturing differences or is the G19 extractor definitely worn?

Here is the G19 as viewed from the other side:

Here's how much "meat" the extractor to work with:

    • I used the same mags for both pistols.
    • Ammo was WWB and American Eagle

I have been trying to trouble shoot this for some time - any help (other than get a XD) would be appreciated! Thanks!

That corner should not be that rounded over. I would replace it and call it a day.

Extraction issues? You're lucky it extracts at all . Put a new one in and you'll be fine.

Wow that is very worn. I've shot 30K+ out of my 17 and it looks perfect. Not sure why yours is so rounded. I'd buy a new extractor and a new spring to go with it.

On the G19, were you ever in the habit of carrying it with a full magazine plus one in the chamber? If so, did you ever place a round in the chamber with the slide locked back, then release the slide?

No. I usually store it with a full mag but chamber empty. I've never been in the habit of closing the slide on a full chamber.

I bought this pistol used so it may have already been worn when I bought it. I did shoot some steel cased Wolf through it but not a whole lot.

I just came back from Angeles after installing a new extractor. Now it works great! Thanks to all for the help.

That's the only thing I can see causing that kind of wear, nothing else should be contacting the outer edge there where it's rounded off. I've come across a lot of people who chamber that way.
