Are the Shims necessary for the comforted stock? What are they used for and how can you tell which size you need?

Benelli Supernova Tactical Question

I don't know the technical terms, but the shims help adjust the angle of the barrel to a natural shooting position.
The "comfortech" stock has nothing to do with it. It's just a recoil dampener.
When you mount the gun, does the barrel line up with your shooting eye? Or do you need to adjust your head slightly?
My neck is long so I needed to shim the stock to angle my barrel down. -
Yea actually I do have to slightly. So I should just swap out shims until I find the one that brings the sights when I bring my gun up.Comment

I did and it helped a lot. I didn't realize how much until I took my supernova and my wife's m2 dove hunting. The m2 was not set up for me and I didn't hit nearly as well with it as I did with the shimmed supernova.
The manual will tell you what kind of adjustment the shim combos promote.Comment
