    Upper problem... flash hider!

So i ordered a complete upper from surplusammo for a really good deal when they had their holiday sale... only problem is i just realized it came with a flash hider. So now what are my options? And around how much is this going to cost to fix? I have no idea & I'm not trying to get busted.

    Thanks for the help!

why would an upper with a flash hider be illegal

if your firearm has a pistol grip it can have a flash hider too

it will cost you zero dollars to fix it. you dont need to do anything, except make sure your lower has a bullet button.

I just did a search on here and read a thread from 2010 saying flash hiders are illegal in cali, and i thought I'd heard that before. So is this not the case anymore... or was it never the case? It will have a pistol grip as well as a bullet button

look up any of the "post your ar15" threads, you will see this is not the case. all of us have a flash hider, comp, or brake.

Once you've had the volume turned all the way up, that low-level noise just doesn't matter anymore.

Sorry for my ignorance. So basically on a featureless rifle it's a no go, but a bullet buttoned AR it's good to go

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

Sorry, that's totally wrong. You can have threads on a featureless. Hell you can even have a muzzle brake / compensater. It just can't decrease flash.

For an example an AK with a slant brake is gtg as a featureless
