Wow, removing an AR barrel...

...was more of a PITA than I thought it would be!
I had the proper upper receiver block, armorers tool, hammer, vise... but after letting the tool slip and screwing up the teeth on the barrel nut, well, let's just say Mr. Pipe Wrench got the job done in short order.
My flat-top, free-floated, Dissipator-style 9mm upper with a ramped bolt is in the works. Will post pics when done...

I always wondered how removing a barrel is done...

How do you ensure you've torqued your new barrel in properly? Presume you have a ft-lb adjustable wrench somewhere?

I have not installed the new one yet, but have the torque wrench, yes.

its really hard if the assembler did not use anti-seize on the upper threads sometimes the upper will corrosion weld to the nut
