    Need gunsmith near Whittier

I just purchased an Enfield 2a 308, the rifle came in pieces, missing was the original wood stock, the barrel had been cut to 18" and all the metal was cleaned with God only knows what, but looks good. The bolt glides super smooth and the head space is on the money, I plan on installing a synthetic stock I saw at Ammo bros in Cerritos and painting the whole thing camo green. I asked the gunsmith at ammo bros if he would do the work for me but he said no thanks.

I'd like to have a scope mount drilled & tapped and the barrel threaded for compensator install.

As much as I'd like to restore this puppy back to it's original form, she's past that point. so I'll turn it into a good looking hunting rifle.
So if anyone knows of a good smith near Whittier that works on the relics please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

I've used Bain & Davis once for a rebarrel on a revolver. I don't know what all they do, but you could give them a call. Here's their website:

www.bainanddavisgunshop.com Click on 'custom'. They are in the San Gabriel valley, not too far from here (Whittier).

Also Bolsa Gunsmithing in Westminster. I used them years ago, although I don't recall off hand what I had done. A couple of my buddies use them also. Their web address is:

Trusted since 1964, Bolsa Gunsmithing offers firearm sales, repair, consignment, storage, and custom gunsmith services in Orange County, California.

I have no affiliation with either, but have used both in the past. Bain & Davis are expensive . . . just sayin' . . .

      Thanks for the info,
I for some reason thought there would be alot of smiths in LA area. I should have asked for gunsmiths in Los Angeles and not Whittier.

      So yea,
how about any home smiths that work on relics, not looking to go the cheap route but the more the experienced route, that know how to remove the barrel from the receiver without twisting the receiver.

Maybe I should be re-posting this in Curio and Relics section.
