Yeah I have has some like that. We have that brownells orange jig and it supports the fsb, its a big help.

Other then that you need to loosen them, then its a cinch. Short of a hydraulic press (im not suggesting this btw) you need to hit it harder or a hammer with more weight.

My mini sledge is MIA - assuming one of my "friends" borrowed it... Going to get a new one and give that a shot tonight. If that wont get it done I am giving up and going to find a gunsmith to do it...

Backing it up on something solid is just as important as the heavy hammer.

Had to beat the crap out of mine with a little 5 pounder and nice solid punch. Then installed new taper pins. But initially it was a real bear. I have a 2x4 with holes drilled in it to support the barrel and FSB while allowing the pins to come out.

          Good luck!

Thats what I did tonight with a two pound and a really solid punch. Gave it a few big wacks. Did not move at all. Did not even think about moving. Really annoyed and running short on ideas.

If it's a stag upper then the pins come out the opposite way. I have a bcm upper that's been giving me fits. Good luck and hang in there.

Not a Stag, I actually measures each side just to be positive what way to drive them out... Still no luck.
