ak conversion cost?

Went to pick up my first ar and found a saiga AK for 450 but I couldnt hold it right so they showed me the pistol grip one for 799... I'm asking how much would it cost and what parts would I need...

$450 before dros and tax? if so thats a little pricey...
theres a million threads on saiga conversion already so your probably not gonna get an answer other than some search nazi telling you to search.
I don't know for sure but I'm sure the conversion is less than $300.

From what I've seen you need a trigger kit, pistol grip with screw and nut, and you need to modify your trigger guard. Then about a days worth of work.

I still don't understand why someone would convert it back to a pistol grip and give up a detachable mag. May as well buy an SKS at that point.

Because you can put a wrap on the grip, bump 30's and when you leave cali simply remove wrap and have a true ak...

Saigas are $299.95 from J&G Sales. May save you a few bucks depending on what shipping and dealer (out of state) transfer fees are.

Convert the rear end can be done for around 100 and is pretty easy to do

= less than 799

cost me $300 out the door for my Saiga and I just ordered everything needed for a conversion for $170 to my door. Total: $470.
