    AR10 final assembly

Would any calgunners experienced with AR10 builds be willing to help me with the assembly of my LR308? I could drop off the parts at a gunsmith but I want to learn how to do this myself. So I'm hoping someone would be up for teaching me as we build. Im not a complete gun noob. But I've never assembled all the parts together at once before. And I'm definitely willing to compensate you for your time. I'm in SF and hope to find someone in the Bay Area. Let me know thanks!

Brownells has a great video series on assembling the AR-15 if you can't find anyone locally. It's possible the torque on the barrel is different on the AR-10 but as far as I know everything else should apply.

I know but I don't have the tools like a vice, proper wrench, punch etc. Neither do I have a place to assemble it at my house.

Buy the tools. Watch the videos. Ask friends who are familiar with the AR platform (AR15, AR10). Learn by doing.

If what you are REALLY asking for is, "can people who have the tools bring them to my place so I can borrow them?", then good luck. haha

For assembly of the Lower you do not need a vice, nor a vice block.
Pin punch: Harbor freight set works great
              Pliers: for roll pins
Electrical tape: for preventing scratches on the receiver, mask areas that can be contacted by pliers during the install of the roll pins
              No other tools required.

              For the upper:
              vice:harbor freight
              vice block: Brownelles
              strap wrench: harbor freight
              torque wrench: harbor freight
              barrel nut tool: Brownelles

How To Video: Brownelles if you want to know how to do it with expensive tools (start with this one)
Then YouTube to learn how to do it with reasonable tools. (do it this way)

I'm not looking for someone to come to my house or to lend me tools. I was just checking to see if anyone in the bay area would be willing to teach me and be compensated. I'm willing to go wherever they are.

Thanks for all the links, but the fact is that I don't have anywhere to assemble this in my house at the moment. Unless I try to do it on my bed but last time I did that I lost a couple small parts =/ I'll give it another few days and if no one is able to help me out then I'll give it to the gunsmith. How about cash, trade parts for service or ammo?

I wasn't trying to change your mind, just throwing it out there as an alternative. I think it's an excellent idea to find someone knowledgeable locally.

I'm about 400 miles from SF or I'd offer to help. Besides, I'm not really an AR expert anyway.
