Weird question: Muzzle-less AK

I was thinking about buying a barrel and cutting it down for an AK pistol. Even though the AK barrel isnt as thick as an AR bull barrel, I was thinking about going with a barrel without a muzzle or flash hider. Is there a reason I would need it as far as functionality goes? Or would I be able to cut down and just refine the end and keep it that way?

If you care at all about accuracy, get it crowned.

If you care about recoil, get a muzzle brake, yes they make a difference.

And whats an ar15 bull barrel have to do with anything?

Perfectly alright to fire an AK without a flash hider or comp.
I have a few that have threaded barrels but only have a muzzle nut installed effectively making them exactly like what you're describing.

I am sure the OP will crown after cutting.

If you care about how loud the pistol is You WON'T get a muzzle brake or a flash hider.
These devices do reduce recoil but increase the noise the shoot hears tremendously.
I'll be turning a fake flash hider for my AR. One that looks just like the A2 flash hider without the ports. Just a .242" hole in the end

I had a SAR-1 AK, those don't come with any sort of muzzle device, it just has a nicely crowned bare muzzle. Very accurate and I didn't notice much difference in recoil between it and a slant break. Just my 2 cents.

Any muzzle device only puts another variable into the equation. Anytime you are wanting the utmost in precision, it's common practise to eliminate as many variables as possible.

I was comparing what I wanted to an ar bull barrel in that there is nothing attached to the barrel WHERE THE BULLET EXITS.

A semi visual comparison and nothing more.
