    Select Fire 80% 10/22 receiver

All this talk about 80% receivers has re-lit the fires on a project I had put away for the future. I ran across Select Fire LLC Razor 10/22 Receivers while surfing and bookmarked the site for a rainy day. You folks out there talking about 80%'s and a drill press I recently brought home have me thinking about it again. So I'd like to ask the good folks out there if anyone has any experience with these receivers or completing 10/22 receivers in general. The videos they have on the site appear to be pretty straight forward except for drilling the barrel hole. From the little bit of research I've done, most people are saying the barrel hole is the most important part of the receiver completion process. Has anyone out there personally completed an 80% 10/22?

    Thanks for the input

    My 10/22 Razor

I highly recommend looking into a Tactical Machining 10/22 80%. The razor's finish work was absolutely horrible and required a lot of filing and sanding to make it look pretty. If you do go the razor route, make sure you get the unanodized version so that you can fix this.

TM is active here and their products are GTG.

      Hi Lostsheep,

Thanks for the reply. I may be reconsidering my choice now. That is a very impressive shop you have on your hands. The right tools DO make all the difference. That's a far cry from a garage build using a drill press. Thank you for the input. More comments and input welcome.

I am truly spoiled by all of the awesome toys here, I wish I could convince the boss (older bros) to allow me to host build parties. He is afraid of the ATF knocking on our door.

I hope I didn't discourage you, I believe that TM is going to be releasing a jig soon for their 80%ers and that it is designed with home shops (with a drill press) in mind. The only hole that needs a really good setup is the barrel hole.

Post pics if you decide to take the plunge, and good luck.

On the contrary, I'm not discouraged at all. In fact, I plan on picking up a few TM 80%'s during the group buy with some friends and having a small "friendly" build-off and range trips to test the new toys. Gonna have to get a jig between the 4 of us.

          Thanks again Lostsheep
