SureShot Precision Marking AR Lower Engraving Experience

I recently had my 80% AR lower engraved by Greg (Kingpin.SC) at SureShot Precision Marking and would like to give them a big thumbs up!

I had heard of them through Roccobro, who helped me complete the 80% lower, but finally decided to get it engraved when I saw that they were offering 25% off all services for the holidays on their facebook page. (The following week they were offering 3 $20 gift cards so I definitely would recommend liking their facebook page and getting subscribed to their deals via status updates.)

Overall the experience took a very pleasant two hours and everything was done while I waited. I was able to watch the entire process sitting right next to the laser. Every step of the way Greg checked with me to make sure everything was exactly the way I wanted it and even took the time to google things on the spot in order to triple check that everything was correct. During the down time while the laser was engraving, Greg and his brother explained the origins of SureShot and showed off their own guns/services. The way that they can apply camo patterns to Magpul products is very cool. I probably would have done it except for the fact that I prefer to keep by guns all black and evil looking.

During my time talking to Greg and his brother I also learned that their recommended method of color filling the engravings is with nail polish and removing the excess with acetone/nail polish remover. This actually works really well, but the only problem is that it is very hard to repaint the engravings a different color if you ever change your mind. The nail polish of the original color sits just deep enough that the acetone can't really reach it, but if you paint over it, the layer becomes too thick and gets wiped off with the excess when the acetone is applied.

I am in no way affiliated with SureShot Precision Marking, just grateful of the work they did for me and the price they did it at and wanted others to benefit as well.

Attached are some pictures of the work that was done. Sorry they were taken with my phone and bit blurry.

          Santa Clarita, CA 91351

I'm pretty sure they can now also receive firearms/lowers if you ship it to them to have it engraved.

The color-fill looks great! I'm also glad to hear that you had a good experience with us. I really liked the chemistry-based idea for the selector markings... Definitely unique!
