Ruger Old Style Single Six Reassembly Help

Need some help. What I thought would "easy like Sunday morning" on Friday turned out to be a bit more than I can handle. So I field stripped my 1970 Ruger Single Six 22lr around 10am. I took a break for lunch and when I came back I thought I had it licked however hit a snag out the gate as I can't figure out how the scissor type cylinder latch spring is supposed to go in. All the low hanging fruit YOUTUBE or other reassembly videos on the web appear to be for the "new" style Single Six. I've read the manual however it is of little help to poor old me as I generally need a visual reference (picture, schematic, something) and all it says is "reassemble the cylinder latch spring"...nice. Anyway if there are any Colt or Ruger guys out there who can help I would be much appreciative. Just a little nudge in the right direction is all I need...a link to a video or pictures would be the "berries" but I'll take anything.

    thx,

    scott

Armed with the knowledge that, the cylinder latch spring has a fixed leg that
has an anchoring hole in left inside wall of the frame, your problem should hopefully be easier to solve.

Thanks Steve. R46 part on page 7 is the one. Perhaps my problem is that the cylinder latch spring no longer retains it's natural shape (and I need a new one). I've been trying to put the "fixed leg" (the shorter leg with the right angle leg) into the anchoring hole on the left (right side when I have the receiver upside down) however it keeps popping out when i drop the cylinder latch (R45) in place.

I'm Ray, not Steve. Steve's pages http://stevespages.com/ is a great resource for hard to find gun info.

Maybe a dollop of grease will hold the leg in place when dropping the latch in place?

Numrich has the Cylinder Latch Spring for $4.15

        Good luck.

Ray...thank you (sorry...I had a few cocktails last night).

Will go the grease route and in parallel order the latch spring. Thank you for the assist.

No problem. I wish that I still had mine that I parted company with back in the late '60s.
