Romy G kit with Romanian underfolder question

I have a regular Romy G kit with the wooden stock with the black line at the back. I also have a Romanian underfolder stock and rear trunnion set.

I am mulling over possibly making using the underfolder stock with the Romy G kit. It looks like the AK-builder flat below is the correct one, please can someone confirm? Ie confirm that it will take the Romy G kit AND that where Curtis writes about it being a sidefolder "Khyber Pass" flat, that is just an error. (I know the lower handguard schlong wont work with the underfolder...I'll use a different lower hg)

Lastly, would you do it as an underfolder? Or as a standard Romy G build? This is my first Romy build and my first 7.62x39 as well.

That's the correct flat, so long as you have the correct Romanian UF rear trunnion.

I say do it, sounds like a cool build to me. The flat looks to to be right but call Curtis or email him he is very helpful.

I built a mint Romy G kit that came with the underfolder and trunnion into an MD65 clone using an NDS-1 ROM UF receiver. Came out really nice and just needs a better condition Dong and some kind of finish.

Why tear it down? You already have a functioning rifle in your hands. Drill out the rivets and replace the fixed trunnion with the underfolding trunnion. If the layout is a too hard to do, you could tape a piece of paperboard (like cereal box) and trace the outline and shoot some spraypaint to get the holes marked. Cut that out, tape to your receiver and drill out the holes. Your top rivet will line up with the fixed stock top rivet.

Lol! Does this thread getting bumped bother you?! I only commented because I'm building a Romy currently and researching different stock setups. 👍

The romanian side folder uses the regular receiver ans works with any handguard, FYI.

Thank you, sir! So use the original rear trunion for the side folder as well?

                              No.

the side folder will have a hinged trunnion specific to the stock

And if you live in California you better learn how to pin it open, because without modification to your rifle to get it to greater then 30" you can't fold it.
