    Gcode for homebrewed CAM

This Bridgeport mill was dumped at a large recycling outfit in the bay area. Whenever something interesting comes in like this the owner calls my partner and gives him first dibs. Anyway, we got this 4,000 lb hunk of steel and ripped out the 1970's technology and wired it into a Ibook. It works pretty good considereing we arent trained machinists. Anyways, I would like to know If there's an open source or inexpensive source to buy the gcode for finishing 80%'ers??
Yes this machine is totally controlled by an OLD Ibook! We use it mostly to make small parts for "burner" artists in oakland, in the photo it is set up to operate a plasma torch to cut out many copies of flour de lis trinkets in plate steel. The stell angle clamped to the table is holding the torch.

It don't work that way. You need to know the exact post processor your control likes to use.
Then you need to know what tools you are going to use. Gcode is not universal and will not work from machine to machine like that. Gcode is machine specific.
I could program it for you with a little bit of money but the program will not be turn key and will require editing.

As for a Cheep or free cad cam system. Mach 3 is good stuff and it comes with lazy cad or something. It for the guys that build there own CNC from parts. Mach 3 is the control software and lazy cam.

here's a video of the machine in action

I was hoping we could find some gcode that someone else has done to mill the FCG pocket, I've seen the www.cncguns blueprints, was hoping for some open source we could adapt to our custom setup. Once I get a 80% program dialed in we should be able to do entire receivers at the push of a button...
