I converted my Saiga a few months back. I got the FCG from Dinzag that was already ground down for the BHO. Finally got a chance to test fire it last night and the BHO open would move up and catch the bolt after every shot. I know the easy fix is just to remove it, but I'd prefer not to. Any ideas on why this is happening? I opened it up and everything looks and operates just fine.

I was gonna say maybe your knocking it up with your hand unknowingly. Well when you do get the spring installed make a little notch using a grinder with a zip wheel in the BHO plate on the shelf where the spring engages. Saigas have a little problem where that spring likes to jump off the shelf and lock up your gun and it's damn near impossible to get that fixed without swear words and a big arse hammer. There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Hello My Friend we meet again!
As Mike mentioned here^^^I was gonna say maybe your knocking it up with your hand unknowingly.
That spring tends to jump out of place when you shoot. Even with a notch it could still do this from the recoil or the action's movement (first hand experience).
Totally a different scenario when doing a function test after converting and actual live fire.
What I did was cut a notch (this was done during conversion, and before test fire) and bent the tip of the spring flush to the BHO plate (this was done at the range after a few curse words were said and getting some dirty looks from AR guys).
GOOD LUCK!

I left my BHO out, for my Saiga conversion. I saw no real resason for one, other than a range convience (it may be ideal for you, but not for me). I did however notch my safety lever to act as one for range reasons. It was a simpler way to do so, without adding more potential issues to the rifle!NRA MEMBERComment
