Barrel threading MAK90?

I have a MAK90 which I would like to thread the barrel to 14MM lefthand.
Anyone have any experience on doing this? Also a source for a front site
With the spring loaded detent that holds the muzzle attachment would

Got a Mak-90 and looking to do the exact same thing. E-mail me when you find out who and how to do all you listed. I would like to go halfers to get my Mak-90 done the same way.

Am also in N. Cal.

If you are doing a Chinese, make sure the diameter is within the spec to thread. If I remember, the Chicom barrels were a little thicker than a Romy or Hungarian. Might need to take off a few thousandths. Use lots of oil and go slow. The tool that goes with the die makes it a no brainer.


Or, a gunsmith will charge you about $25 to $30 to do the same thing.

Front sight base. No luck with polytech parts so far.
It looks like the euro pattern Ak`s have different sizes
Between the front sight pins than Chicom Ak`s.
I may buy a Romanian front sight base to see if it fits.
I don`t have any romanian parts to compare.

It's 1/2" between the pins on a Romy. Norinco had 3/4" between the pins. You could put an E.German front site block on. These guys sell them.

That so called company sucks ***
i bought that kit recently
the Die handle is made in India and didnt fit the the Die.

the customer service is a big fat Zero
i emailed them with no responce i finally found a contact number.
thru my credit card statement.
Called them and he just jerked me around telling me it was the other company thats affilated with him.
No help whats so ever.
I need to contact the Better Buisness Burea.

yup, still havent gotten my threading kit from them, i filed a report with my card i used and am waiting for a refund, i still havent heard anything from them.
