Using Alumahyde for partial touch up?

Can Alumahyde be used to fix a small portion of a rifle, such as scratches or blemishes. I am hoping I could just use some steel wool and then some brake cleaner on the affected part and then spray with Alumahyde and let cure for a week?

It can be tough to blend everything in but it can be done.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

After thoroughly cleaning the area, heat it with a blow dryer or heat gun. Should work fine. If you don't bake, let it cure in an area that is relatively warm and DON'T TOUCH IT! If its warm, a week should be good but if you are curing it in a cold garage a month might be better.

I use Alumahyde II regularly...it is tough to match the existing finish. It's close...but may look cloudy. You may find it easier just to refinish the entire part. It does take patience and time.....but looks fantastic when completed. My Avatar is full Alumahyde II along with color fill for all the roll markings.
