I have a 14x1 LH die & .30 cal pilot you can borrow. Just need a $40 refundable deposit while you have them. I'm in Sac. Shoot me a PM...

Dude... you can't "CUT" barrel threads with a die.

since when? Many people thread AK barrels using a die set and a guide. Hell I did mine that way and it works fine.

many people assemble their AKs in a cave, by candle light with a rock and a railroad spike for tools. If it's an AK, go for it.

I thunk you were talking about a real rifle.

so you would rather pop the barrel out of the AK, throw it on a lathe and thread it?

well, that would be the best, but dern near impossible, or just not time/cost effective for your AK. Trunion (if already installed), gas block, etc... all a little bit of a pain. If you've got a machine with a large enough spindle bore, great, but that takes a very large and expensive lathe.
